Egg Shells scares lizards?

Believe it or not, it works.

I personally hates lizards especially those at house lizards. I literally will jump and scream when I see one even if it's just as small as your little finger! Even for me to put up this photo, I am grinding my teeth and goosebumps all over are on the rise.

I finally found a solution and I want to share it with you. So far, I have tried it and it works. My mother-in-law was curious about it and she tried as well. And to her amusement, she told me that it worked and now there are few lizards, if not, none at all at the places she placed the EGG SHELL.

Basically, the reason is rather logical when you think of it. Snakes will eat eggs and small animals (i.e. lizards, rodents). So, when the lizards see a broken egg shell, they assume that there is snakes near by and for their own safety, they will keep clear (which is what we want!!)

Whenever you fried an egg, remember to keep the shell. here is what you can do:

1. Make sure you break the eggs well.
2. Once done, gentle wash the shell to remove the residue.
3. Place the shell at a corner where it's 'obvious' to the lizards view.

Check it out! No more lizards!!

  1. I have a large kitchen drawer filled with broken egg shells. However, I don't rinse them because the smell of the egg residue on the shells also deters the lizards. Although I place them on the steps to my front door and on either side of the driveway, a baby lizard found it' way through my opened front door. I found the lizard in my house and panicked. I actually was able to place a glass over it and trap it. My son came over to get rid of it. Now I am going to put a row of broken egg shells across the base of my front door!!!!

  2. But I am very much curious about the logic behind it... I don't think so a house lizard in cities they ever seen any snake in their life then how would they understand about snake around... it's bit confusing me about the logic...

    1. Technical answer :egg shell contain sulphur which is harmful to lizard because the abdomen of lizards have pores and when it in contact with sulphur it will get dry or sometimes may burn .this sulphur also smells from birds beaks and lizard can odour sulphur so it also afraid of bird feathers
